Mumbai, Feb 26 (PTI) New India Cooperative Bank’s Prabhadevi branch here had a capacity to keep ₹10 crore at a time, but the cash in hand book showed there was ₹122.028 crore in the safe on the day of RBI inspection, police have said. Mumbai: Parts of rural Karnataka have started showing initial signs of distress for microlenders, following the notification of the new ordinance that aims to protect borrowers from harassment by microfinance institutions (MFIs).According to field reports, the collection efficiency of microfinance-focused non-bank financial companies (NBFC-MFIs) has fallen below 90% in northern districts of Karnataka, said two bankers on the condition of anonymity.“There is confusion and chaos at the ground level. Chennai-based electric air taxi startup The ePlane Co is looking to raise another $30-50 million as it prepares to manufacture three prototypes by 2026 and set the stage for its first launch. The startup has been conservative in tapping investors so far, securing $20 million since it was founded in 2019. On Monday, Nasscom said the IT industry should end with $283 billion in revenue in FY25, which would mean a 5.1% growth from the year-ago period. Surprisingly, for the first time in a quarter of a century, it revised its FY24 revenue estimate from the $253.9 billion set in September to $268.8 billion. Nasscom also restated numbers for the people employed in the sector, from 5.43 million to 5.67 million.
